What is it?

Casual Hackathon is a new type of hackathon initiated by the LXDAO community. It emphasizes lightweight operations, low cost, de-commercialization, creativity, and experience. Inspired by the broader community and various hackathon events, Casual Hackathon is designed as an open-source public good. LXDAO will not apply for patents or impose restrictions on its use. Everyone—individuals, communities, and organizations—is welcome to initiate or participate in a Casual Hackathon.

Unlike traditional hackathons that are high-intensity, high-pressure, and prize-driven, Casual Hackathon encourages developers to create what they truly want in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, rediscovering the pure joy of building.

Casual Hackathon does not require a prize pool, sponsorship, or KPI metrics, but aims to help every participant gain personal recognition and growth.

It is both a brand and a project under LXDAO, primarily operated and maintained by the LXDAO community to distinguish it from other hackathons.
