With the introduction of EIP-7702, Ethereum’s account abstraction is once again making waves in the tech world. This Casual Hackathon revolved around this new proposal, diving into account design, wallet interaction, and user experience in a forward-thinking building experiment. Let’s revisit the exciting highlights from this event!

🎙️ Replays:

01|What Is Casual Hackathon?

Under the impact of rapid technological development and commercialization waves, the exploratory spirit, creative passion, and free atmosphere of traditional hackathons seem to be gradually submerged. Casual Hackathon, an open-source project initiated and maintained by the LXDAO community, was born in response to this trend. Anyone can freely use and participate in it at no cost. Casual Hackathon is committed to recapturing that original spirit of "play" in a relaxed and fun environment, allowing everyone to break away from their daily routines and fully enjoy the joy and freedom that programming brings.

Why a “Casual Hackathon”?

  1. Thematic building with a forward-looking vision

Each Casual Hackathon centers around one or more thoughtfully curated themes, such as the future of Web3, the Metaverse, or decentralized app innovation. Participants are encouraged to explore freely within these themes, from concept to prototype—every second filled with imagination and surprise.

  2. Weekend or short-term events, remote-friendly and fun

Held over weekends or within 2–3 days, the event is designed to spark creativity in a focused time frame. Most importantly, it's fully remote—no matter where you are, you can join forces with global builders to brainstorm and create together.

  3. Relaxed atmosphere + pressure-free creativity

Casual Hackathon promotes a "play first, build later" philosophy. No rigid judging system or tedious process—just pure fun and experimentation. You're free to tinker with any tech stack or bold idea, letting your imagination run wild.

  4. Every project wins—everyone gets noticed

In this casual hackathon, there’s no such thing as “failure.” We believe every idea deserves attention. Each project receives a unique reward and memento, honoring the courage to explore and innovate.

  5. Enjoy the journey, build with like-minded peers

More than just a competition, it’s a space to learn, connect, and co-create. You’ll find companions who share your passions, spark ideas together, and perhaps start long-term collaborations. The real magic often begins after the hackathon ends.

02|EIP-7702 Casual Hackathon

This third edition of the Casual Hackathon was a global event co-hosted by LXDAO and ETHPanda, centered around EIP-7702—not just to follow a trend, but to help shape the future. Proposed by Vitalik and others, EIP-7702 aims to resolve key limitations of EIP-3074 while retaining the powerful ability to temporarily convert an Externally Owned Account (EOA) into a smart account.

It’s more than a technical fix—it opens new narrative and design spaces for wallets, dApps, security, identity, and permission systems. This hackathon invited developers to freely explore the next generation of wallet design powered by EIP-7702.

In this edition, 81 members joined the Telegram participant group, 17 developers registered on GitHub, and 8 teams showcased their creations during the Demo Show. Let’s take a look at the highlights!
